While shopping, Mary Yeager, heiress of Skyfond Corp, passes a hair salon and recalls helping one of its members, Fanny Smith, days earlier by purchasing a membership card. Stopping in for a quick wash, she rejects Fanny’s aggressive sales pitch, unknowingly sparking resentment. Midway through, Fanny scalds her with hot water and hurls insults.
